Adding a transaction

Say it once. Trove files it.

Tap the mic and say a payment the way you would tell a friend: the shop, the amount, how you paid and when. Trove reads it into a draft, suggests a category, and fills in the form for you to confirm. Voice entry works in Chrome, Edge and Safari, and uses your browser’s own speech recognition. Prefer typing? Drop a line, a receipt or a statement into the inbox and confirm what it finds.

  • The merchant, amount, payment method and date are read from one spoken sentence
  • A category is suggested from rules you can read, and you can change it
  • UPI, card, cash and bank transfer stay separate in your reports

Rules and categories are explained in the categorisation guide. Tracking UPI in particular: UPI expense tracker.

Example with sample data. Saying “Zomato 450 upi yesterday” appears as text and is read as four parts: the merchant Zomato, the amount 450 rupees, the payment method UPI and the date, yesterday. The entry is filed under Food and added to the top of the ledger, and the sample balance goes from ₹42,300 to ₹41,850.

Saving and compounding

See what a monthly habit becomes.

Saving ₹10,000 a month at a steady 12% a year for 20 years comes to about 98.93 lakh rupees, of which 24 lakh rupees is money you put in. Move the sliders to try your own numbers. The same arithmetic sits behind the goals and the net worth milestones in Trove.

Your data

Your money belongs to you. So does your data.

Trove is early and built by one person. The security page also lists what is not in place yet.

  • No bank connection. Trove only sees what you enter or import.
  • HTTPS everywhere, and row-level security on every table.
  • Receipts stay in a private bucket, scoped to you.
  • Never sold, never shared for advertising.
  • Export everything, or delete your account, from Settings.

Pricing

Frequently asked

Questions, answered plainly.

Is Trove free?
Yes. While Trove is in early testing every feature is free, with no card on file and no tiers. Paid plans may come later. If they do, the pricing page will say so before anyone is charged. See pricing.
Can I track UPI payments in Trove?
Yes. Every transaction records how you paid: UPI, credit card, cash, bank transfer or something else. That keeps UPI spending separate from card and cash, and lets you see the split each month. You add UPI payments yourself or bring them in from a bank statement. Trove does not connect to UPI apps. More on tracking UPI.
Can I import my HDFC, ICICI or SBI statement?
You can drop a statement from any bank into Trove's inbox: a CSV or spreadsheet export works best, and a PDF can work where the reader supports it. Trove lists what it found as candidate transactions and saves nothing until you confirm them. The text of the file is read by a language model, so check amounts and dates. There is no importer tuned to each bank's layout, so no bank is guaranteed to read perfectly. How importing works.
Does Trove connect to my bank account?
No. There is no bank connection and Trove never asks for a bank login. Everything in it is something you typed or imported yourself. Read the security page.
Is my financial data safe?
Trove uses HTTPS everywhere and row-level security on every table, so one account's query can only return its own rows. It is also an early product built by one person: it has no two-factor sign-in yet and has not had a third-party security audit. Treat it as a clear view of your spending, not a system of record. Read the privacy policy.
Can Trove track my subscriptions in rupees?
Trove works in rupees by default. Repeating charges in your own transactions, such as a streaming plan or a cloud storage bill, are picked up nightly and listed with their renewal dates. Trove records subscriptions so you can see them; it does not cancel anything for you. More on tracking subscriptions.
Can I see my net worth in lakh and crore?
Yes. Net worth is what you own minus what you owe, and you can enter amounts the way you say them, such as "2 lakh in an FD" or "car for 12 lakh with a 4 lakh loan". Each entry is shown as a card for you to check before it is saved. How net worth works.
Do you sell my data, and can I delete it?
Your data is never sold or shared for advertising. Analytics on this website are off unless you accept them. From Settings you can export everything and permanently delete your account. Privacy policy.
